◎简 介
十二世纪的法国，在孩子和妻子相继死去后，法国小铁匠贝里昂(奥兰多·布鲁姆 饰)心灰意冷，他杀死了侮辱妻子尸体的神父。而此时，从耶路撒冷而来的十字军将领戈弗雷（利亚姆·尼尔森 饰）告诉贝里昂，他就是自己失散多年的私生子。贝里昂为了寻找救赎，跟随父亲前往耶路撒冷，并且继承了父亲的领地。却爱上了公主西比拉（伊娃·格林饰）。
当他来到耶路撒冷后，并未能寻找到心灵上的安宁，但他的骁勇善战加上品格高尚，贝里昂几经征战成为赫赫有名的武士，不但深受耶路撒冷国王赏识，美丽的公主西比拉(伊娃·格林 饰)也对他芳心暗许，他也被西比拉公主深深吸引。然而，当临死的耶路撒冷王请求他为了和平，杀死注定要继承王位的嗜血盖伊，继承圣城王位时，贝里昂认为这与救赎之路格格不入因而断然拒绝。
耶路撒冷王故去，新王继位。好战的新王挑起战争，却被萨拉丁击败而全军覆没，萨拉丁率领撒萨拉逊骑士要收复他们的圣地——耶路撒冷。然而随着战役增加，带来无尽的杀戮和掠夺，贝里昂终于领会父亲训言中和平的真义与生命的真爱，贝里昂的抉择挑战了自己的生命，也改变了一个国家的命运。危急之时，贝里昂挺身而出，誓言捍卫“天国王朝”。
后来，萨拉丁进攻耶路撒冷，贝里昂迎战，征集城内所有能打仗的男人为骑士，女人们则相当于“医药队”。最后，萨拉丁做出让步，耶路撒冷归于他统治，但是萨拉丁不杀死现在耶路撒冷里面的平民百姓，而是让贝里昂带着他们离开。人民居住到另一个地方后，有两个骑士千方百计找到贝里昂，问他愿不愿意参与战争，做一名骑士，却被他拒绝了......从此，贝里昂与西比拉过上了幸福平民生活。
