      上世纪80年代末，胡八一（陈坤 饰）、王凯旋（黄渤 饰）与Shirley杨（舒淇 饰）在美国打算金盆洗手，本来叱咤风云的摸金校尉沦为街头小贩被移民局追得满街跑。就在此时，意外发现20年前死在草原上的初恋对象丁思甜（杨颖 饰）可能还活着，胡八一、王凯旋、Shirley杨决定再入草原千年古墓……

花絮

.筹备该片的两年中，乌尔善为此学习了“倒斗”，去了很多墓穴和博物馆，并且在专家的带领下学习风水学、了解极限运动。

.戏份拍摄时温度高达50度，演员们穿着四层戏服，背着一个沉重的装备包，还要吊着威亚做空中翻滚，难度相当大，但演员们还是亲自上阵没用替身。

.天下霸唱在选角上的意见是：胡八一当过解放军连长，王胖子则生长在部队大院，两人都需要有军人的英气。

.该片提前一年开启全球预售，杀青之际已经卖出6个国家地区的版权。

.剧组几乎承包了中影北京基地的所有摄影棚，甚至亚洲最大的5000平米棚都无法承载一个完整的场景，只能分别放在十几个棚，拍完即拆，再建新景，半年之间就这么轮流搭建完成拍摄。

.在IMAX版本中，有一些地宫内部探墓的场景用的是IMAX满屏的画幅。

.乌尔善和陶昆开玩笑：之前《画皮2》做了两年零两个月，《寻龙诀》再创新高——三年半，五年间只拍了两部电影。

本片在纽约、内蒙古、北京三地取景实拍。

对于内蒙的日戏拍摄，导演乌尔善回忆：“拍摄时是夏天，150万瓦的灯齐上阵，温度能达四五十几度。”

.“粽子”是《鬼吹灯》小说中特有的暗语，指墓穴中的僵尸。

.陈坤的武器是飞虎爪和捆尸索，为了玩出范儿，他曾用三周时间专门练习，可拍摄时依然频受伤，躲闪腾挪间“造成了习惯性崴脚”。

舒淇的金钢伞被她形容为“勇士的盾牌”，挥舞起重达10多斤的大家伙。

《寻龙诀》拍摄历时132天，从内蒙草原到北京再转战纽约，行程两万多公里。
