　　拉胡尔受奶奶的嘱托 去完成祖父的遗愿——将骨灰撒在神秘的印度南部拉姆斯瓦兰的圣水中，但是机缘巧合拉胡尔踏上了反方向的金奈快车，偶遇了大美女米娜，米娜的父亲是印度南部可班的土霸王，土霸王打算将自己女儿嫁给邻村的高大威猛的土豪，所以米娜从家中逃了出来。拉胡尔和米娜两个人就好像南极和北极，不同的语言，风俗，习惯闹出了各种笑话，原本不同世界的两颗心也慢慢的在靠近，但是爱情之路并不是那么的一帆风顺，一个意想不到的旅程正在等待着他们。究竟这趟错误的金奈快车会载着两个人去往何处，土鳖能否从土豪的魔掌中夺回女神，相信冥冥之中命运之神自有他的安排。

Rahul Mithaiwala (Shahrukh Khan) is a forty-year old bachelor and lives in Mumbai. Rahul's parents died in a car accident when he was eight years old and it was his grandparents who brought him up. His grandfather has a sweet-selling chain store - Y.Y. Mithaiwala. Before his birth centenary celebration, two of Rahul's friends suggest a vacation in Goa which he accepts. On the day of the birth centenary, his grandfather dies whilst seeing a cricket match. His grandmother tells him that his grandfather desired to have his ashes divided into two parts - to be immersed in the Ganges River (in the north) and Rameswaram (in the south). She requests Rahul to go to Rameswaram and immerse the ashes.
