　　居住在美国芝加哥的弗雷德·克劳斯（Vince Vaughn 饰）是一个滔滔不绝甚至有些自大的家伙，更令人想不到的是，他还有一个名叫尼克（Paul Giamatti 饰）的兄弟，竟然是现役的圣诞老人。两兄弟从小性格迥异，与善良的弟弟不同，弗雷德自私冷酷。在圣诞节前夕，他准备开设一家赌场，但是仍有5万美元资金没有到位。在这关键时刻，弗雷德被小矮人威利（John Michael Higgins 饰）带到北极。由于圣诞期间过于繁忙，圣诞老人和他的伙伴们忙得不可开交，因此请来弗雷德帮忙准备圣诞礼物。看在钱的份上，弗雷德答应了弟弟的请求。
