　　德国大导演弗里茨．兰在五十年代赴美拍摄的冒险动作片，时代背景是十八世纪中业。史都华．格兰杰饰演一名放荡不羁的海盗，却成为一名小男孩的监护人，他不想麻烦，就送小孩去读书，但后来发现他是一颗传说中着名钻石的继承人，便兴高彩烈地陪同小孤儿出发去找寻宝石，并准备将它据为己有。但是在旅途中，小孩对母亲的回忆慢慢打动了海盗，最后使他良心发现，把钻石物归原主。这部娱乐片虽然跟弗里茨．兰在战前拍摄的一些经典作不能相比，但仍然拍得相当热闹流畅，男主角尤其演得出色。
