The Miracle Worker Blu-ray, Video Quality

Presented in an aspect ratio of 1.66:1, encoded with MPEG-4 AVC and granted a 1080p transfer, The Miracle Worker arrives on Blu-ray courtesy of Eureka Entertainment.

( }: v, z; Y& `, BThe release is sourced from the same master that Olive Films licensed from MGM and worked with to produce the U.S. The Miracle Worker. I like it a lot. It has very good density levels and delineation is often rather impressible. In backgrounds, even in the darkest ones, there are plenty of healthy nuances as well. The grading job is convincing -- the blacks are solid but do not appear boosted, while the grays and whites are nicely balanced. There are no traces of problematic degraining corrections, which is why the grain exposure is often excellent. (My guess is that the master was struck from an interpositive, so ideally the exposure should be a tad more pronounced, but on a large screen the visuals look great). Image stability is very good. A few white flecks and small scratches remain, but they will not spoil your viewing experience. My score is 4.25/5.00. (Note: This is a Region-B "locked" Blu-ray release. Therefore, you must have a native Region-B or Region-Free player in order to access its content).

There is only one standard audio track on this Blu-ray release: English LPCM 2.0. Optional English SDH subtitles are provided for the main feature.

Laurence Rosenthal's music score is used trhrought the entire film to enhance the drama. Fortunately, the audio has been remastered and is very healthy, so the native qualities of the original soundtrack are reproduced really well. The dialog is clean, stable, and very easy to follow.
