Dumbo arrives with a stunning 3D Blu-ray presentation which is sure to please enthusiasts of the 3D format. The release is presented in the original 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical aspect ratio. The 1080p MPEG-4 MVC encoded high definition presentation is a technical marvel with excellent depth to enhance the experience. There are not a ton of "pop-out" 3D moments (though there are still a few moments sprinkled throughout) but for the most part this is a superb presentation which emphasizes added depth for the image. The CGI imagery looks impressive on the presentation and the colorful cinematography is not hampered by having an image that appears too dark for the 3D.

Though the added 3D effect is the work of a conversion, the end result is surprisingly robust and again demonstrates how much improvement has been made to 3D conversions over the years. This is not a lackluster 3D conversion by any means and the presentation is top-notch. Though there are a few sequences where the 3D feels more subdued (mainly during drama scenes), the action and high-spectacle moments have exceptionally realized 3D that helps to bring one closer to the story. It's astonishing to see Dumbo soaring through the skies and to see the imaginative world of director Tim Burton enhanced by the creative use of the 3D medium. This presentation expands Burton's vision to new heights and reminds one of why 3D is an essential filmmaking tool. A must-see 3D experience.

Though the track lacks the same degree of bass reproduction which one might desire, the highs in the track come through with superb clarity and definition. This is not a perfect track (but an enjoyable one nonetheless). The release does not contain the Dolby Atmos track found on the 4K edition.
