　　电影的拍摄器材是cinemascope（应该是当时唯一的一台，归福克斯所有，当时有另外两部大制作《地心历险记》和《海底两万里》也是这台机器拍摄的）。和同时期的大制作科幻电影一样，电影也聘请了火箭专家布劳恩作为电影的技术顾问，电影中展示了V2火箭，以及太空站，也属影史首次。

　　当然，电影最大的问题就是为了保证科学性而丧失了娱乐性。显然，本片想要摆脱老科幻电影的”低级趣味“，但是当火星不再出现怪兽和外星人的时候，如何能够抓住观众眼球是电影面临的巨大挑战。可无论如何，这部《征服太空》无疑是一部不可忽视的科幻杰作。
