' ]; s6 q0 q4 m$ v9 D0 c$ IIn 2019, Shout Factory brought "The Craft" to Blu-ray, and while they loaded the disc with supplementary material, the company was left with an ancient Sony scan to use. The visual presentation was greatly disappointing. In 2022, Shout Factory tries again with a UHD release of "The Craft," using a "new 4K restoration by Sony." Fans of the movie are finally offered a worthy transfer of the feature, which comes alive on this new release, delivering a fresh sense of detail, capturing costuming and skin nuances, while facial particulars are sharply defined. Exteriors offer renewed depth, along with hallway encounters and household showdowns. Color is alive, with the rich primaries of witchcraft emerging with authority, and greenery is distinct. Makeup designs are memorable, along with clothing hues. Blacks are deep. Highlights are tasteful, with warm sources of fire and sunlight. Grain is fine and film-like. Source is in excellent condition. The BD presentation also uses the new scan, providing an excellent upgrade for those who invested in the previous release.

The 5.1 DTS-HD MA sound mix delivers a forceful impression of "The Craft," with surrounds engaged throughout much of the movie, utilized most distinctly during ceremonial scenes, which offer swirling voices and powerful thunderclaps and lightning strikes. Dialogue exchanges are sharp and true, detailing teen banter and more direct spellcasting. Scoring is comfortably supportive, fulfilling suspense needs, and soundtrack selections provide crisp instrumentation. Sound effects are louder, offering crashing glass and hissing snakes. Low-end isn't remarkable, but some weight is added to household destruction.
