　　莱克西是一个在小镇池塘上自学溜冰的十六岁的漂亮女孩，在参加地区比赛时被著名教练看上了她的潜质，加以破格训练。教练刻意利用大众传播将莱克西打造成光彩照人的花样滑冰明日巨星，杂志和电视的频繁报道终于使她一举成名。但同时，莱克西与男友尼克之间也出现感情裂痕，莱克西迷失自我，与体育节目主持人纠缠不清。就在莱克西拿到梦寐以求的冠军后不久，她在一次训练时发生意外，头部受伤，视力仅剩下微弱光感，莱克西的滑冰之梦瞬间破碎了。在亲人和尼克的鼓励和帮助下，莱克西重返冰场，并终于获得成功。
