　　本片主要讲述了达比·卡拉什（Darby Crash），与其所在的“细菌”乐队（The Germs）的兴起与衰落。在被一所洛杉矶高中强迫退学后不久，达比和好朋友成立了著名的细菌乐队。与常爱装艺术的纽约朋克，以及伦敦那些虽热情洋溢却处于业余水平的毛头小子相比，它拥有着一种总体上更强硬的震动。细菌乐队不够纯熟的原型硬核和充斥着焦虑的歌词，为洛杉矶成为从音乐形式向硬核方向过渡的中心作出了自己的贡献。可惜1980年，年仅22岁的达比就因吸食毒品过量而死，细菌乐队也不复辉煌。
