　　正在基地修整的企业号接受了一项紧急任务，科克船长一行奉命到属于中立区的宁布星球，解救遭到叛徒控制的乐园市民。叛军挟持了企业号到银河系中心去寻找根源。

　　A renegade Vulcan with a startling secret hijacks the Enterprise in order to find a mythical planet. Kirk and his crew set out to stop the madman in an adventure that takes them to the center of the galaxy and perhaps, before the face of God. With the crew under the Vulcan's control, the captain must rely on an unlikely alliance to survive and save the galaxy.

6 `8 F4 X% d8 }, v% X( aParamount's 2160p/Dolby Vision UHD release of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier beams onto the format with an incredible transfer that offers a substantial gain even over the companion and concurrently released remastered Blu-ray. The picture is absolutely striking for its film authenticity, high detail yield, grain excellence, and color delights. The grain is firm and fine, a perfect and flattering component that presents the film with a remarkably stable and pleasing cinematic flair. Underneath is a super sharp image that captures a level of clarity and detail well beyond the Blu-ray. Look at Kirk's blue shirt climbing the mountain, and the mountain (set piece) itself at the 9:33 mark. The boost from the Blu-ray is obvious for fabric density, facial detail, and the rock formation definition, revealing all of the latter's slickness with incredible precision. The picture absolutely delights throughout. On Nimbus III, no speck of dust is left anything less than perfectly visible, while grime in the settlements is plainly visible and realistic. Computer terminals on the Enterprise bridge present with superb clarity. The rocky formations on Sha Ka Ree have never been so tactile. For as much flak as the film gets, there's no mistaking the incredible clarity and razor-sharp filmic definition on display. A few softer shots inherent to the original photography are present, but this is otherwise an incredible UHD transfer.

The Dolby Vision color grading is a major boost for the film. The level of color completeness, boldness, and accuracy go well beyond even the Blu-ray. Look at Kirk's blue shirt early in the film, up on that mountain. The color is so much deeper and more intense on the UHD. It is very lifelike and just pops off the screen. Uniform reds are beautifully bold yet not at all garish. Contrast those bold tones with the dusty beiges on Nimbus III which are themselves deeper and more lifelike; nothingness has rarely been color graded so wonderfully as it is here. Black levels delight, whether out in space or in several key low light scenes in the Enterprise observation lounge. White uniform colors and Sybock's attire sparkle. Skin tones look perfectly natural. There are no source blemishes or encode flaws; this is a top-of-the-line UHD presentation from Paramount.

Note that this disc would not play on my Panasonic DP-UB9000; which is my primary playback device; I had to review the disc off of my box Series X where it worked just fine.
