* b6 h$ B. j* g( F( L# ], i 黑市古董商郭敦煌带同两徒弟寻找古物，三人大意触及机关，打开封闭密室，发现三具僵尸，一男一女和一小僵尸，额上各有纸符镇压。郭决定以小僵尸为货版，运往一黑市买卖组织，与首领K作交易，运送途中，郭不慎弄脱小僵尸头上镇邪纸符，小僵尸番生，得以逃脱。密室内，一徒弟亦因弄脱僵尸纸符，僵尸番生，郭返回，与徒弟跟两个大僵尸搏斗，合力制服了僵尸，但徒弟被僵尸咬伤，身上开始霉烂，于是前往林医生处求医。林医生随他们到工作室，为怕僵尸遗祸，他主张把僵尸消灭。古董商却因不甘损失，加上警察介入，各方混战一场，两个大僵尸乘机逃走。小僵尸被不明真相的小朋友当成小人蛇交朋友，玩得正欢；大僵尸赶来，僵尸一家团聚。警察设重重包围将僵尸家族消灭，但古董商和他的两个徒弟因被僵尸咬伤，此刻却变成了僵尸。0 D+ V n, U8 `4 i

K 继《鬼打鬼》、《人吓人》、《人吓鬼》之后，洪金宝又开始尝试将僵尸题材融入功夫片中，影片选取功夫片中最常见的民初背景、师徒关系、斗趣情节都被编剧直接套用到影片中，有关“僵尸”和“茅山术”的具体细节则极具民间色彩，用糯米、墨线、桃木剑、黄纸符降制僵尸的民俗传奇手法都被《僵尸先生》统统吸收，并被“九叔”林正英用极其专业的“茅山”手法一一施展开来。僵尸的造型动作特征同样向民俗传说取经：身着清朝官服，双手伸直，双足并拢如麻雀般一蹦一跳，以人之呼吸辨别方位(同理，人闭呼吸可避僵尸，这也是《僵尸先生》最令观众印象深刻之处，由此该片在台湾上映时又叫做《停止呼吸》)。
