.汤姆·哈迪和伊德瑞斯·艾尔巴都曾是天启扮演者的候选。
.为了扮演该片中的X教授，詹姆斯·麦卡沃伊剃了光头。他在之前的X战警系列电影中就想这么干了。
.片名本打算和漫画书的片名一致：天启时代，但为了让片名显得更有凶兆，也为了避免和《复仇者联盟2：奥创纪元》以及《变形金刚4：绝迹重生》雷同，改成了天启。
.快银在变种人学校奔跑的戏有三分钟，但拍摄这场戏花了三个半月，伊万·彼得斯比任何其他演员待在片场的时间都长。这场戏是用高速摄影机以50英里每小时的速度移动，每秒3100帧的速度拍摄的。
.先行版预告片中，X教授的轮椅和《X战警》（2000）中帕特里克·斯图尔特用的那把是一样的。
