　　独眼男孩久保（阿特·帕金森 Art Parkinson 配音）和身体孱弱的母亲过着相依为命的日子。白天，久保靠着给村民们讲述怪力乱神的精彩故事赚钱，天一黑，他就必须回到家中照顾母亲。一天，久保回家晚了，曾经夺走了久保一只眼睛的邪恶姐妹（鲁妮·玛拉 Rooney Mara 配音）来到久保家，企图夺走他的另一只眼睛。在混战中，久保的母亲死去了，死里逃生的久保被迫离开村庄，在外流亡。
